Silk Care Guide
Songjin brocade is woven silk — the pattern is integrated into the fabric structure, making it far more durable than printed silk. With proper care, your NOOKMOOD bag will last for years.
Daily Care
- Storage: Store in the dust bag provided, in a cool, dry place
- Avoid prolonged sunlight: Direct sun can fade silk over time
- Keep dry: If the bag gets wet, air-dry it flat — never use a hair dryer
- Rest rotation: Give your bag a rest day between uses to maintain its shape
Cleaning
Dry cleaning is recommended — this is the safest method for woven silk brocade.
If you need to spot-clean a small area:
- Use a clean, white damp cloth
- Dab gently — never rub or scrub
- Use mild soap (pH-neutral) if needed
- Air-dry flat, away from direct heat
Do NOT:
- Machine wash or tumble dry
- Use bleach or harsh detergents
- Wring or twist the fabric
- Iron directly on the silk — use a pressing cloth if needed
Hardware Care
- Wipe metal hardware with a soft, dry cloth after use
- Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and cosmetics
- Store with silica gel packets to prevent tarnishing
Long-Term Storage
- Stuff the bag with acid-free tissue paper to maintain shape
- Store in the dust bag in a breathable container
- Avoid plastic bags — they trap moisture and can damage silk
- Check periodically for any signs of moisture or pests
